My Approach
I provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive psychological evaluations to support USCIS applications and immigration court proceedings. My work is grounded in careful assessment, clinical objectivity, and respect for each individual’s lived experience.
My focus includes:
Highlighting each applicant’s strengths and resilience
Acknowledging the psychological effects of trauma and hardship
Offering efficient and timely evaluation services
Producing clear, objective, and professionally written reports for legal use
Evaluation Process:
Immigration psychological evaluations generally consist of two structured assessment sessions, each approximately 60-90 minutes in length.
Sessions are conducted as clinical interviews to gather relevant psychological, personal, and contextual information related to the immigration case.
A comprehensive written evaluation report is typically completed within 3-4 weeks and prepared for submission to USCIS or immigration court.
Expedited evaluations and reports may be available for an additional rush fee, based on availability.
Case Types
-
Extreme hardship evaluations assess the emotional and psychological impact that a qualifying U.S. citizen or legal resident relative may experience if a family member is removed or denied immigration relief. These evaluations document mental health symptoms, functioning, and relevant psychosocial factors to help the court or USCIS understand the potential consequences of separation or relocation.
-
Asylum evaluations assess the psychological effects of past persecution, trauma, or fear of future harm if an individual were to return to their country of origin. The evaluation documents trauma-related symptoms, mental health history, and current functioning in a manner relevant to asylum proceedings.
-
U visa evaluations assess the psychological impact of being a victim of qualifying criminal activity and the resulting emotional or mental health effects. These evaluations document trauma-related symptoms and functioning to support applications based on victimization and cooperation with law enforcement.
-
T visa evaluations focus on the psychological effects of human trafficking, including experiences of coercion, exploitation, and trauma. Assessments document the mental health consequences of trafficking and their impact on daily functioning and well-being.
